Trees For Troops

Severt’s Tree Farm is proud to support Trees for Troops, a program of the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx. Since 2005, the Trees for Troops program has delivered 65,000 Real Christmas Trees to military families across the nation and around the world. As a Trees for Troops Weekend participant, Severt’s Tree Farm and its customers have donated more than 400 trees to the program since 2008.

Trees for Troops Foundation Facts:

• The Trees for Troops (T4T) program was started in 2005 with corporate partner FedEx Corp., who provides the shipping and logistics for the trees.
• Since 2005, the program has delivered more than 50,000 Real Christmas Trees to military families at more than 50 bases across the U.S. and overseas.
• In 2009, T4T plans to deliver more than 15,000 trees to all branches of the military.
• Approximately 300 trees are shipped overseas for troops in the Middle East; the rest are distributed to military families throughout the United States.
• The trees are provided by more than 700 Christmas Tree growers and retailers in 29 states.
• Consumers can also purchase a tree for the program by visiting one of the 40+ farms/lots participating in Trees for Troops Weekend – Dec. 4-6, 2009. (To find a participating location, visit www.treesfortroops.org)
• If there is not a Trees for Troops Weekend location in your area, you can also support the program by making a donation to the Foundation or by purchasing a Trees for Troops ornament or apparel – new for 2009.
